Worcester Green Party was launched in January 2004. They now hold regular street stalls in Worcester High Street, they have taken part in the consultations on the County Council's Waste, Transport and Housing strategies, Worcester Green Party's Robert Wilkins edited 'Green Gossip', an e-mail noticeboard for social justice and environmental groups, and the local party launched the "Green Restaurant Award" in the city.

Elections took place for Worcestershire County Council on 5th May 2005, and Worcester Green Party fielded a 'full-slate' of ten candidates in Worcester City. More than 10,000 people voted Green in the County Council elections across Worcestershire, the biggest vote the Party has seen in the county. Worcester Green Party saw their vote rise by more than 60% on their score in the European elections the previous year. They polled 3,318 votes (7.1%). In Rainbow Hill, transport spokesman James Roberts scored 690 votes (17.5%), and Alex Gwinn got 550 (13.5%) in Nunnery division. On the same day, Chris Lennard stood as Green Party candidate for Worcester in the general election.

On 4th May 2006, Worcester Green Party fielded their largest number of candidates ever, a 'full-slate' of twelve in the elections to Worcester City Council. The Green vote jumped from 7.1% to 11.5% across the City, and the Green Party was only 303 votes from replacing the Liberal Democrats as the third Party in Worcester. In Rainbow Hill, James Roberts' scored 31.38% of the vote and came second, beating the Conservative candidate into third place. Other notable Green results were from Clive Matthews, 20.5% in St.John ward, and from Kate Wildish, 18% in Warndon.

In 2007, the Greens again contested all City Council seats, and in May 2008, they contested ten of the twelve seats at the City Council elections - they did not contest St. John or Warndon wards - dropping to 8.5% of the vote.
